Mmm chocolate

dark_chocolateMmm Chocolate! Who can resist? I’m mad crazy for the dark. It heals me to the core! I’m salivating writing this.
The delectable treat has been enjoyed for thousands of years. The Mayans considered Cacao to be a divine gift. The name ‘Cacao’ translates into ‘food of the gods’ (rightfully so).
More than twice as many women than men eat and crave chocolate (no big surprise). Chocolate produces the effects of a mild anti-depressant by increasing serotonin and endorphin levels in the brain. Chocoate eaters report feeling less stressed! Cocao can even improve blood flow and circulation and lead to better congnitive function. Flavonoids (plant chemicals) are found naturally in chocolate and can exert antioxidant and cell-protective benefits.
The Mexican chief Montezuma considered chocolate a “love drug” and drank 50 cups of chocolate a day before visiting his harem of 600 women!
Chocolate is sociologically considered a comfort food. Not all chocolate is created equal. The darker the better. Eating the food we love is part of enjoying life!
